Cohen, Mark & David Langmaid – 5402156 – Herd SOLD (see below)
We, at Poverty Hill, have spent over 10 years building our herd of quality Murray Greys…the kind that not only survive, but THRIVE in our harsh Northern Vermont environment. Our cattle are all Igenity tested and have to be able to tolerate a short summer and long winter, which puts their efficiency to the test. We feel our Murray Greys are true representations of what has made the breed so very popular in Australia… and… they look pretty darn good too!
As any good cattleman knows, strong maternal lines tend to emerge as time goes by and for us that has been realized through a herd sire that we used extensively, ATI Trojan 045 (son of Gentle Acres Trojan 66C and ATI Carnation 317). “Trojan” sired his last calves here at the ripe old age of 13. Loving the maternal characteristics that this bull stamped on his daughters, we bought ATI Carnation 086X who, along with our NEXT herd sire Monarch Oak Rim Fire, produced two VERY fine daughters Poverty Hill Rim Carnation 2Z and Poverty Hill Rim Carnation 6A (full sisters) that we consider some of our best. The sisters are joined by Poverty Hill Rim Milly 5A another fine daughter by Rim Fire.
Eagles Run High Roller ET 272R was the next bull used and gave us Poverty Hill ERH Carnation 1CB. Our last bull was Victory Power Play, a super thick and ultra deep son of Willalooka Power and HA Matilda that we just recently traded for our new herdsire.
As stated by Angie Nason, Wisteria Farms, on a recent visit, “These are the kind of cattle I would put in my own herd… you should be very proud of the herd you’ve built.” Though we’re located a little North, OK a LOT North, we would love to help you get a start in Murray Greys or add some of OUR genetics to your program. If you find yourself anywhere near St. Johnsbury, VT, don’t hesitate to stop in, we’d love to show you our quality cattle THRIVING along the edge of the Great North Woods!
